Meet the Chronic Oedema Team

Maree O’Connor – Lymphoedema Physiotherapist | Educator | Founder

Maree O’Connor is a lymphoedema physiotherapist and educator with over 30 years’ experience in lymphoedema and chronic oedema management, with a particular focus on physiotherapy following breast cancer. In 1994, she established the first comprehensive lymphoedema clinic at the Mercy Hospital for Women, helping to set a benchmark for integrated lymphoedema care in Australia.

Maree is the co-author of the Lymphoedema Handbook and has taught extensively across Australia and internationally, contributing to the education and development of clinicians working in lymphoedema and chronic oedema care. She is a founding member and first President of the Australasian Lymphology Association and has served on numerous state, national, and international committees, including the Australian and International Lymphoedema Frameworks.

Through Lymphoedema Education Solutions and Chronic Oedema Solutions, Maree continues to lead clinician education, resource development, and sector collaboration, supporting evidence-informed, practical approaches to care. She is currently undertaking a PhD focused on health services and allied health, further strengthening the link between clinical practice, education, and system-level improvement.

Kerryn Tutt – Allied Health & Community Care Manager, Lymphoedema Physiotherapist

Kerryn Tutt is an allied health executive leader and lymphoedema physiotherapist with over 25 years’ experience across aged care, disability, private health, and community-based services. She has held senior leadership roles with organisations including Australian Unity, HCF, Ramsay Health, CatholicCare Sydney, and Just Better Care, where she led large multidisciplinary teams and complex service transitions.

Kerryn has presented at national and international conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals, and brings a strong interest in research and innovation to chronic oedema care. Her current research focuses on lower limb oedema in aged care and the role of bioimpedance technology, including SOZO, in early detection and management.

As a consultant with Chronic Oedema Solutions, Kerryn supports organisations to design and implement effective chronic oedema management strategies, upskill their workforce, and embed person-centred, evidence-based care within complex service environments. She brings a rare combination of clinical expertise and executive insight, with a particular focus on enabling high-quality care under evolving models such as Support at Home.


Caroline Siassios – Marketing, Design & Communications

Caroline brings over 30 years’ experience in education, strategic marketing, design, and communications, with a strong focus on translating complex ideas into clear, engaging, and practical resources. Her work centres on helping organisations communicate with purpose and support learning through thoughtfully designed visual and written materials.

Caroline has worked across healthcare, education, community services, and professional sectors to design education programs, campaigns, and communication frameworks that build confidence, capability, and engagement. Her background as an educator, combined with deep expertise in visual communication and instructional design, supports the development of accessible, clinician-ready, and patient-centred resources.

At Chronic Oedema Solutions, Caroline supports marketing, communication, and design activities, including the creation of visual education materials, learning resources, and clinician-facing tools. She works closely with the clinical team to ensure information is evidence-informed, clearly structured, and communicated in ways that support understanding, confidence, and meaningful behaviour change.
